Mesa Beauty goes from Plain Pane to Windoooooooh Pane!

Mesa Beauty is a local hair stylist, who has just moved their salon to the 805 Early street complex.

If you haven’t been over to 805 check it out. There are are a lot of pretty cool small businesses over there. From vintage to stained glass to speakers/audio, salons, and tattoo. With that much going on you need a sign! And Mesa Beauty reached out the best, Marcine, for both glass door entrances to her building.

We took the logo assets Mesa Beauty previously had made and went to work. Both glass doors still need patterns, but we can skip the electro pounce this time.

From here it is exactly like tracing. Exactly. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Sorry I was lying just right there. A lot time and precision work goes in to signs, especially glass. This is pro level shit. And Marcine is the GOAT. - I’ll have to do a post on her work for TONK Santa Fe. Until then drive by and check it out. Mind blowing. - Both doors had different glass depths, 1 was single pane and the second was double. The thicker the glass the further your art is from the painted surface, this mean slight adjustments in how you look at the art and painted surface, can seriously alter the final outcome. Marcie is a pro so even with the depth differences door to door she rocked them both at the same time and completed this job in two afternoons. Had the paint tacked up a slight bit quicker she could have done it in a day, but when possible its better not to chance it and wait till its fully dry.

pro tip.

cinder block for added height, you really want to be eye level with your brush on windows.

Peep the final.

fuckin cleeean
