Collect Santa Fe's Van, Logo, and Paint.
Recently Marcine painted the Collect Westfalia Van, nothing wild, just their Hand drawn logo, and their Address, and Social in the brand selected typeface. Painting on cars is so much fun, the first car I ever really painted was a 1994 Ford Escort GT that me and the boys at the local garage raced for a couple of years. Not really related, more of a fun fact tangent.

Look at the beautiful sky and ignore the fact that our work truck has yet to be painted. It is on the list.
ANYWAY. Did I mention that I drew the original Collect logo?
No? Well I did, pretty awesome. I wish I had some process photos to show y’all, I tossed them awhile back during a renegade manic cleaning episode. I'll tantalize you not with process photos, but with just some words. I pulled out my finest, and most fun fountain and dip pens. My hand feverishly writing, just 1 word. Collect. Over and over. over and over. For pages, filling at least 10 sheets. All caps, no caps, initial cap, cursive, standard, a mix of the two. It looked like both a middle school girl had a crush on someone named Collect, and the scribbles of a mad man driven insane by Collect.
After my possession was over, I looked over the pages of what I and done, and found the favorites, with the client in mind. From there I expanded a bit on each of the ones I liked, until I wrote out the one I loved. I did a few more trying to top it. Came close.
Then with the settled hand style in mind I wrote out some other words and drew some flowers that might be used.

I scanned the version of the mark that would become their logo and digitized it.
Shortly after this we did paint their sandwich boards. and if i can find a photo I will attach.
1 of 2 sandwich boards.
The text here is also my hand writing that was then painted.
And more recently, and the bit the title really suggested you be reading about. The Van.

This photo you can see the partial paint job, and a faint outline of the rest that will be painted. That’s the pounce line, from our patterns. This is one of the tricks that really help speed a job up and retain real accuracy to the art/ logo/ or text

We love painting on vehicles, they just look so fucking good when they are painted. Even a shit paint job is better than a great vinyl sticker. So can’t afford to hire us? no worries paint it yourself, it will be better than vinyl. not perfect, but better.
For this job we gave our small business and local business discount to Scott and Kristina after they were awarded a small grant from the city. We mocked up a few options, and settled on a layout. The hard part is over, and Marcie rolled over and knocked the out in an afternoon for them. Kristina was driving around town that night! (not recommended, but the paint had tacked up enough).

Did you just write your car off as a business expense? and do you want the world to know it, so naturally you want your logo or business ‘related’ painting over it? Well fuckin-A we can help, you should know that, you did read the whole blog post.
